Dr. Michael Parker

I am an astronomer, working mainly on black holes. I use X-ray observations to measure the properties of matter falling into them, and the powerful winds that they launch outwards.

I use a combination of spectroscopy and variability tools to understand the behaviour of these extreme objects.

Currently, I am a postdoc at the Institute of Astronomy in Cambridge.
